About The Festival
The Palacios Area Historical Association (PAHA) Pirate Festival and the Palacios Scouts Pack 1441 and Troop 1441 have joined forces to provide our community with an action-packed family-friendly Day on the Bay. This collaboration evolved in order to create a fun annual event utilizing the beautiful Palacios Coastal Pavilion and park for educational programs for young and old. What better way to tell of the rich multi-cultures that fought over Texas than to get folks out for a family day and make learning fun!

Festival venue location information and gallery
"The community of Palacios has enjoyed the recreational benefit of historic pavilions built over Tres Palacios Bay since 1904. The last of these on the City’s 4th Street pier was dismantled in 2011 after severe storm damage. A desire to build a coastal educational pavilion that honors the past and looks forward to the future has been the desire of many groups over the last decade and resulted in the development of the Palacios Beautification and Pavilion Committee."

Is this related to the Palacios Pirate Festival over the past several years?
YES! We are rebranding the festival as part of partnering between the Scouts' Cinco de May, La Petite Belle and PAHA's Pirate Festival. In doing this, we are expanding the celebration to include the explorers and other historical figures who make up the facinating history of Matagorda Bay. In bringing these two fun family events together, we have agreed on "Day on the Bay, first week in May" as an expression of our love for our wonderful bays.
